This position serves as the foundational level for Registered Nurses with more than 12 months of experience. As a fully effective and participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team, you will provide and coordinate independent care within a clinical specialty. You will utilize the institution's care delivery and professional practice models as your frame of reference, functioning under limited supervision to assess patients, develop plans of care, and perform complex procedures specific to your area of expertise.
You are a vital part of the Care Team and Support Team, accountable for functioning collaboratively to achieve patient outcomes. Your day-to-day responsibilities include delegating duties to other care team members, assigning nursing care responsibilities to staff, and establishing priorities based on essential patient needs and available unit resources. You will work closely with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare members to ensure comprehensive, continuous, and skillful care from a patient's arrival to their departure.
As a member of our team, you are accountable to the patient, their family, and your team members for the care provided. You are also accountable to the nurse manager for the totality of your work performance. This role requires a steadfast commitment to holding to the Service Standards and the Nursing Mission, Vision, and Values. You will actively participate in activities designed to develop your own practice and support group practice goals at the unit level.
Patient safety is paramount in our culture. You are expected to ensure safety in all job functions and actively participate in hospital, department, or unit patient safety initiatives. This includes taking action to correct observed risks, reporting adverse events and near misses to appropriate management, and consistently implementing policies and procedures. We foster effective working relationships and maintain open communication with all team members to create a supportive environment for both staff and patients.
