About the Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Manager - Mission Critical (REMOTE) is looking for a Project Manager to join our Community Development Group, focusing on Mission Critical Data Center projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on Data Center projects of various sizes across the country. The Mission Critical space requires a proactive, responsive, and efficient design team with projects serving Fortune 10 companies that are leading transformational initiatives. The candidate will work directly with clients to implement and manage project design and construction administration. Responsibilities include Project Management, development of project team members, and supporting and managing civil site design services for private data center projects. This position coordinates and leads project teams focused on engineering and construction related services.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to undertake site development projects related to planning, design and engineering. Client types include private developers, general contractors, and architects.
  • Be a motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, innovative, organized individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be a responsive partner with excellent communication skills.
  • Be proactive, solution-oriented, and work well within a cooperative team environment.
  • Be flexible and react accordingly to dynamic project needs on tight timelines and fast‑paced schedules.
  • Perform duties with virtual coordination as the team is officed across various geographic regions.
  • Understand civil engineering concepts (site layout, grading, utility design, etc.) and effectively communicate ideas to others.
  • Manage and lead technical work depending on scope/size of project.
  • Take responsibility for large projects of high complexity.
  • Liaise with clients and sub‑consultants to ensure their needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
  • Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
  • Review, markup, and coordinate the delivery of documentation in various project phases including site plans, utility plans, grading plans, stormwater systems and other components of the project.
  • Participate and collaborate in project team settings and engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the land development process and effectively communicate ideas to others.
  • Assist the design team in creating sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Assist with proposal development, interviews, and presentations.
  • Market and support client growth throughout North America.
  • Utilize technologies in the development of three‑dimensional models of civil systems and provide markups for junior engineers/designers.
  • Develop and manage the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
  • Assist in the development of new standards and processes for the team.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong understanding of all phases of project document production.
  • Strong knowledge of civil systems, methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project document production.
  • Checks the work of others for accuracy and completeness, managing time to meet project budget and schedule.
  • Participates and collaborates in project team settings and engages in creative and critical thought.
  • Advanced understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective communicator capable of working on and leading teams.
  • Efficient project management of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software.

Education and

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Planning, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of.

Pay Range

  • Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, NY Areas $90,900.00 - $131,800.00 Annually
  • Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas $100,000.00 - $145,000.00 Annually

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed‑upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary

Regular full‑time and part‑time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short‑term/long‑term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full‑time and part‑time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (subject to state and local law). Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law. The benefits information listed above may not apply to union positions because benefits for such positions are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreements.
