About the Team
Industrial Design is an architectural and engineering firm primarily serving the semiconductor industry in the Chandler, Arizona area, while also executing industrial projects nationally. Our multidisciplinary team provides services in architecture, structural, mechanical, process piping, chemical, electrical, I&C, and telecom. We are currently expanding our capabilities to include dedicated civil engineering services to support our growing business and the complex needs of our clients.
About the Role
We are seeking a licensed Professional Civil Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity, split between 85% desk work and 15% field work within an industrial environment. This role is critical to our expansion, providing advanced engineering services across various project phases. You will be responsible for developing preliminary grading and drainage designs, utility design, water flow calculations, and rainfall and retention calculations. Your output will include civil plans, grading and drainage (G&D) documents, site and grade sections, utility plans, and detailed drawings.
Beyond design, the position involves quality assurance and quality control (QAQC), blue top grade verification, and conducting field reports and observations. Under general supervision, you will direct and review the work of lower-level professional and paraprofessional engineers, drafters, technicians, inspectors, and surveyors. This role requires independent judgment and initiative to make technical decisions of considerable difficulty.
