About the Role

Reporting to the Human Services Supervisor - Child Support, the Child Support Specialist plays a vital role in establishing and enforcing court-ordered child support obligations. This position serves as a critical link between families, the courts, and various agencies, utilizing the KIDS computer data system to manage cases. The role requires exhibiting exemplary customer service skills while collecting information, locating involved parties, and maintaining detailed records.

Day-to-day, you will work within a call center environment, respectfully communicating with case participants, legal representatives, and the general public. You will collaborate closely with the Child Support team to meet agency goals, attending local and regional trainings to stay current on program changes. The position involves preparing a variety of legal and administrative documents, including court orders, motions, and correspondence, and may require testifying at court hearings. While the role is primarily office-based, there is an opportunity to apply for remote work after six months of employment.

Hiring Process

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field, along with one to two years of experience in a human services field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
