About the Team

The Ambulatory Resource Team serves as the dedicated float pool for the ambulatory clinics within the Charleston division of MUSC. This team is designed to provide flexible support across a wide spectrum of medical settings, ensuring continuity of care throughout the division.

About the Role

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will be oriented to adult primary care offices and a diverse array of specialty clinics, including women's health, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, and gastroenterology, among others. You will also support pediatric offices covering similar specialties. Reporting to the Outpatient Clinic Manager and working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will perform multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care.

Your day-to-day responsibilities involve assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under physician direction. You will interview patients, measure vital signs such as pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and accurately record this information in patient medical records. Additionally, you will prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring a seamless workflow for the clinical team.
