This position supports the Cemetery division by performing essential semi-skilled and unskilled manual labor tasks. The role is vital for maintaining the grounds of cemeteries, ground facilities, and other assigned areas, ensuring they remain safe and presentable for the community.
Employees in this class work under regular supervision to complete cemetery projects. The day-to-day involves a variety of physical duties, including weed-eating, grass cutting, and general labor. You will frequently assist skilled tradesmen by carrying materials, tools, and equipment, and may occasionally operate non-specialized equipment as needed to complete assigned tasks.
This role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wet, or humid environments. The work environment involves routine exposure to bright or dim light, as well as dusts and pollen. Safety is a top priority; employees must strictly follow established safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and immediately report any unsafe conditions or injuries.
