About the Role
The Residential Driver is the face of GFL Environmental in the neighborhoods we serve. This role is responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to customers. You will operate rear-load, split body, curto, or automated-side load trucks along designated routes to collect solid waste and recyclables from curbside or backdoor locations, transporting them to post-collection facilities.
Your day involves more than just driving; it requires active engagement with the community. You will interact courteously with customers and the general public to answer questions or respond to requests, ensuring a positive experience for every resident. You will also maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness by monitoring operations for loose debris, cleaning up spills, and ensuring all company policies and safety compliance standards are met. Whether maneuvering a truck into tight clearance spaces or operating mechanical packers, your focus is on delivering first-class service while adhering to all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleAssist helpers in loading solid waste into the truck hopper as route conditions require
- check_circlePerform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and submit condition reports
- check_circleManeuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces using mirrors and GPS
- check_circleFollow all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations and company safety policies

Requirements
- verifiedValid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- verifiedAt least 21 years of age
- verifiedMinimum one (1) year of commercial driving experience OR CDL school certificate
