CDL A Drivers are the trusted professionals responsible for delivering rental equipment and products directly to our customers. This role goes beyond simple transportation; drivers are essential partners in ensuring equipment arrives safely, is maintained in optimal condition, and is ready for immediate use upon arrival. The position requires a unique blend of expert driving skills, mechanical awareness, and strong customer service abilities.
Driving constitutes the most significant portion of this role, involving the safe navigation of construction jobsites and various delivery locations. Your day begins with thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure the truck and all equipment are in safe working order. You will load, secure, and transport units using a CDL A truck, often utilizing a gas-powered forklift to handle storage units and offices.
Upon arrival, you will unload equipment at the desired location, ensuring a positive interaction with the client. Communication is key; you will keep the branch and customers informed of schedules, delays, or delivery issues in real-time. When downtime occurs, you will assist the service department by performing light repairs, inspecting returned units, and tagging them for repair or readiness. You will also maintain an organized, hazard-free yard and assist with inventory control.
Safety is the top priority. Drivers must operate trucks in the safest possible manner at all times, adhering strictly to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and Hours-of-Service rules. This includes maintaining accurate DOT logs, keeping permits up to date, and wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection. You will participate in all safety meetings and immediately report any concerns or violations to the Branch Manager.
To apply, please submit your resume along with proof of your current, valid CDL A Driver's License and a clean driving record. Candidates must have at least one year of commercial driving experience and 3-5 years of relevant forklift operation experience. We look for individuals who demonstrate defensive driving skills and align with our company's core values of continuous improvement and customer service.
