About the Role

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only ensure that customers' products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition, but they also serve as the face of our company, building lasting relationships with our customers.

As a CDL-A Driver, you will drive a tractor-trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes. You will deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner, adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This role offers growth opportunities performing essential work to support America's food distribution system.

Key Responsibilities

check_circleUnload products from trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
check_circleEnsure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured at all times
check_circleDrive tractor trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road, and overnight routes to deliver food products
check_circlePerform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean
check_circleCollect cash or checks where required and load customer returns onto the trailer
check_circlePerform count checks of items and verify customer invoices for loaded products
check_circleVerify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures on invoices
check_circleCommunicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers to answer questions accurately
check_circleComplete daily records of hours of service and enter data in log in accordance with Federal DOT requirements
check_circlePerform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer in accordance with DOT regulations
check_circleReport all safety issues, hazards, and repairs required to supervisors immediately
