As a Driver Trainee, you will learn the essential functions of the Driver job, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. This position offers exposure to warehouse and other operational functions as part of the developmental process of becoming a McLane Driver. You will ride and train with a Driver Trainer, gaining knowledge of commercial driving regulations while observing skills in starting engines, approaching intersections, making turns, backing, parking, and maneuvering vehicles on the road and customer premises. Your journey involves mastering the safe operation of tractor-trailers, inspecting equipment for defects, and utilizing handheld devices to document deliveries and product temperatures. Ultimately, you will assist in unloading trailers and delivering product, ensuring on-time delivery of undamaged goods and providing excellent customer service.
