CDL A or B Truck Driver

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated CDL A or B Truck Driver to support our pavement marking operations. In this position, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of essential equipment and materials required to perform critical duties on the job site. Working under the direction of the Foreman, you will also handle the manual loading and unloading of materials, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and in strict accordance with Department of Transportation regulations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be operating vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) exceeding 26,000 lbs. You will ensure that all cargo is properly secured to prevent damage or injury during transit. A significant part of your day involves maintaining vehicle integrity through pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any defects, accidents, or traffic violations immediately, and managing fuel needs.

You will be expected to stay on predetermined routes to ensure timely transport while maintaining detailed driving and delivery logs. Beyond driving, the role requires physical capability to bend and reach for loading and unloading tasks, as well as the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time. You will also perform routine vehicle maintenance, such as changing oil, checking tire pressure, and handling minor repairs.

Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL). While 2+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving is preferred, it is not strictly required. You should be comfortable with both local and inter-state long-haul transport and possess an innate sense of direction, map reading skills, and proficiency with GPS and routing systems.

A clean driving record is mandatory, and all candidates must pass a background check and drug test via the FMCSA Clearinghouse. We strongly prefer candidates who are skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles and are comfortable with manual transmission (no restrictions). You must be a self-starter who works well independently, demonstrating discipline, dependability, and resourcefulness. High-level composure and good stress management are essential, as is the ability to remain alert, focused, and detail-oriented.

Schedule and Flexibility

This role requires flexibility to meet the needs of the job and crew. You must be willing to work out of the area (in-state) for consecutive days, evenings, nights, or weeks when necessary. Additionally, you should be prepared to work variable shifts and hours based on operational requirements.
