ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, stands as one of the nation's largest and most trusted less-than-truckload (LTL) carriers. With over a century of experience and 240 service centers spanning North America, we are driven by an unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and customer service. We offer best-in-class transportation solutions for companies of all sizes and industries, ensuring excellence in every mile we travel.
This position serves as a vital link in our logistics network, responsible for the pickup and delivery of cargo to and from various destinations, typically within proximity of our consolidation and distribution centers. You will operate as a key member of our team, utilizing the same techniques, technology, and procedures as a dock worker to load and unload trailers efficiently.
In this role, you will exercise independent judgment to build and tear down trailers effectively, ensuring compliance with all weight distribution laws while managing time, resources, and physical demands. Your day-to-day activities will range from check-in procedures and tractor/trailer inspections to setting up tractors and completing routine paperwork, such as logging loading sheets. While the core duties remain consistent, actual tasks and schedules may vary depending on the specific terminal location.
Candidates must possess a Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker, and hazardous materials endorsements, along with at least one year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (or eligibility for training). The selection process includes a review of your driving record (MVR) and previous employment history to ensure a safe and stable work record. Successful applicants must also pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet all DOT medical requirements.
ABF Freight is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce. We value the unique perspectives and experiences that all candidates bring to our team.
