About the Role

The Driver, Trainee Component position is designed for those ready to take their CDL-A career further. In this role, you will learn the essential functions of a Driver, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. As a Trainee, you will gain exposure to warehouse and other operational functions as part of the developmental process of becoming a McLane Driver.

You will ride and train with a Driver Trainer to various destinations, gaining knowledge of commercial driving regulations while observing skills in starting engines, approaching intersections, making turns, backing, parking, and maneuvering vehicles on the road and customer premises. Your day will involve maneuvering tractors, inspecting equipment for defects, operating handheld devices to document deliveries, and assisting in unloading trailers. You will also provide customer service by ensuring on-time delivery of undamaged products, handling returns, and issuing valid credits.
