About the Role
As a Driver Trainee, you will learn the essential functions of the Driver job, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. This position is designed as a developmental process where you gain exposure to warehouse and other operational functions to prepare you for a full Driver role.
You will ride and train with a Driver Trainer, observing commercial driving regulations and mastering skills such as starting the engine, approaching intersections, making turns, backing, parking, and maneuvering the vehicle on the road and customer premises. Your day-to-day involves maneuvering tractors, securing trailers, inspecting equipment for defects, and operating handheld devices to document deliveries and product temperatures. You will also assist in unloading trailers and delivering products, providing customer service by ensuring on-time delivery of undamaged goods and handling returns.
