About the Role
As a CDL A Driver, you will be pivotal in ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of goods to our customers. This role is designed for individuals who take pride in their driving expertise and wish to contribute directly to McLane's reputation through dedication and skill. You will manage routes and routines to proceed in the most efficient way possible, ensuring timely transport to predetermined customers.
Your day will involve reviewing orders prior to delivery, handling documentation regarding cargo with accuracy, and assisting in the loading and unloading of cargo while ensuring its safety and integrity. You will be expected to conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each route to maintain optimal operating conditions. Additionally, you will utilize your navigational skills and familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) to track and document activity logs, maintaining strict compliance with DOT regulations. The role requires the ability to handle unexpected situations, such as traffic or weather conditions, and to report any issues or accidents to the dispatch team immediately.
