DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is DMC's largest facility, renowned for its comprehensive heart center, cancer care, and a revolutionary minimally invasive joint replacement program. As one of only 10 hospitals in the nation to receive a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant for setting cardiac care standards, the hospital operates over 21 outpatient care sites across Wayne and Oakland Counties. The organization is committed to providing exceptional patient care within a supportive, collaborative environment where team members utilize advanced technology to make a positive impact on patients' lives.
This position is dedicated to delivering quality care through compassionate service in the hospital's food and nutrition department. Under general supervision, you will manage all aspects of direct meal service for patients, staff, and guests. You will collaborate closely with nursing staff and dietitians to ensure diet prescriptions are accurate, monitor patients on specific diets (such as NPO or liquid diets), and maintain detailed records. A key part of your role involves interacting with patients in a friendly, caring manner while introducing the "Catering to You" program, taking menu selections, and conducting catering rounds to ensure patient needs are met.
