About the Role
The Carpenter Apprentice is an entry-level position designed to support the construction of concrete formwork and structural elements under the supervision of experienced carpenters and foremen. This role offers hands-on training in the concrete construction trade and provides a clear pathway to grow into a skilled journeyman carpenter.
As an apprentice, you will assist with measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing formwork and reinforcing systems for concrete structures. You will be responsible for operating hand and motorized equipment, including power tools, saws, drills, hammers, and air-nailers. Your work will involve constructing concrete forms for foundations, shoring, decking operations, walls, columns, and other structural elements as the project requires. You will also install re-shores properly per instructions and perform basic math functions while reading a tape measure in feet and inches.
This is a physical role that requires alertness, good balance, and strength. You must be prepared to work during inclement weather, potentially facing extreme cold and heat, as well as noise and dust from construction operations depending on the project site.
