About the Role
This position serves as a critical operational hub for our import and export cargo operations. You will be responsible for examining manifests, bills of lading, and air waybills to determine the appropriate procedures for accepting or releasing cargo. Your role ensures the seamless flow of freight by compiling necessary documents, performing data entry, and interpreting aircraft weight and balance loading instructions.
In this capacity, you will act as a key liaison between our warehouse operations, airline clients, and government agencies. You will expedite shipments, assist customers with pick-up and delivery requests at the front counter, and notify consignees regarding arrival dates, customs clearance requirements, and shipment weights. Additionally, you will prepare invoices for charges and work directly with government agencies to clear shipments, ensuring full compliance with all regulations.
Work Environment & Requirements
This role requires a high level of flexibility and attention to detail. You must be capable of performing repetitive tasks with precision and be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays. The position involves meeting flights to exchange documents and recognizing dangerous goods upon receipt. Candidates must be able to obtain and hold all required security clearances and possess a valid driver's license.
Hiring Process
Applicants must be US citizens, at least 18 years of age, and proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is required. Familiarity with IT cargo systems and proficiency in MS Office are essential, though the ability to learn our specific IT environment is also valued. Successful candidates will complete mandatory security and other required training prior to full deployment.
