Located in Nashville, Tennessee, and operating at a global crossroads of teaching, discovery, and patient care, VUMC is a community of individuals who come to work each day with the simple aim of changing the world. It is a place where your expertise will be valued, your knowledge expanded, and your abilities challenged. Vanderbilt Health is committed to an environment where everyone has the chance to thrive and where your uniqueness is sought and celebrated. It is a place where employees know they are part of something that is bigger than themselves, take exceptional pride in their work, and never settle for what was good enough yesterday.
Vanderbilt's mission is to advance health and wellness through preeminent programs in patient care, education, and research.
You will join the VUH Medical ICU/Medical PCU Cohort 2, a new unit located in the hospital's tower expansion. This environment is designed to be upbeat and challenging, embracing strong team collaboration where nurses and providers participate in rounding. The unit serves adult patients (18+) being treated for complex conditions including Acute Respiratory Failure, ARDS, Sepsis, Drug Overdoses, Gastrointestinal Bleeds, and Liver Failure.
A unique perk of this role is the opportunity to open a brand-new unit with a multidisciplinary team. The position offers a hybrid experience, combining traditional ICU assignments with progressive care beds. This allows you to care for patients who require more monitoring than a general care unit but do not need the full intensity of a standard ICU setting.
In this role, you will assist with the delivery of patient care and the maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will serve as a liaison for patient and family communication, facilitate efficient patient flow, and support unit operations by managing supplies and equipment.
This is a Full-Time Day Shift position working three 12-hour shifts per week (6:45 am – 7:15 pm). Please note that shifts rotate throughout the week, and set schedules are not available; schedules are determined by unit clinical staffing needs.
All Candidates: Please attach an up-to-date resume in Word or PDF format to your application. Ensure your resume includes start and end dates (month and year) for all relevant positions.
