About the Role
As a Papa Pal Care Companion, you playmate, you will provide companionship and assistance to seniors in their homes. This role is designed for individuals who enjoy connecting with others and making a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults. You will serve as a friendly face and a reliable support system, helping members maintain their independence and enjoy their daily routines.
What You Will Do
Your day-to-day interactions will focus on enhancing the member's quality of life through companionship and light assistance. You might engage in meaningful conversations, watch movies together, play board games, or cards, or simply enjoy a quiet moment together. You may also accompany members on walks or outings.
Beyond social engagement, you will provide practical support to help members navigate daily tasks. This includes assisting with light household chores such as laundry, light cleaning, meal preparation, and organization. You may also help with meal preparation and assist members with downloading and accessing apps, teaching them how to use video calls, or sending emails, or navigating technology.
Transportation and errands are also part of the role. You may give members a lift to the doctor's office, the bank, or other appointments. Additionally, you might pick up groceries, medications, or other items that make life a little easier for the member. If the member has a pet, you may assist in walking them or filling their food and water bowls.
