The Cardiac Sonographer serves as a vital diagnostic partner within the clinical team, responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations to support patient care. This role exists to ensure accurate imaging and clear communication between patients and physicians, directly influencing diagnostic outcomes.
In this position, you will work closely with the Operations Manager and cardiologists to deliver comprehensive echocardiograms. Your day involves guiding patients through procedures with empathy and clarity, ensuring their comfort and cooperation to achieve optimal test results. You will operate sophisticated ultrasound equipment, positioning patients and adjusting settings to capture precise images, while simultaneously managing the documentation and reporting process for the medical team.
Beyond technical scanning, you play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the ultrasound suite. This includes managing equipment upkeep, stocking necessary supplies, and adhering strictly to the Springfield Clinic's incident reporting policies and customer service philosophy (the SC Way). You will also ensure compliance with all OSHA standards and clinic training requirements.
Candidates must hold a completion of a course in ultrasonic technology and possess active registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International, and/or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographers. Additionally, echocardiography certification is required. CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
