The Cardiovascular Intervention Center is a core element of the Smidt Heart Institute, performing more than 8,000 procedures annually. This twelve-laboratory facility serves a diverse population ranging from neonates to geriatrics, providing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for coronary artery disease, heart muscle function, and heart valve dysfunction.
About the Role
As a Catheterization Lab Technician, you will bring your expert clinical skills to a dynamic environment dedicated to the highest quality and patient happiness. You will utilize physiological monitoring and recording systems to create, manipulate, and record analog and digital radiographic images used in diagnostic, electrophysiology, and interventional cardiovascular procedures. Your day-to-day responsibilities include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating safely during procedures, managing vascular sites, and performing sterile processing for equipment and room preparation. You will also administer contrast media and ensure strict adherence to radiation and laser protection regulations.
Career Growth
We offer a clear path for advancement within our department. While graduates of accredited CVT programs with no prior experience can begin at the Tech I level, experienced Cath Lab Technicians who meet specific qualifications may qualify for the Tech II position. To advance to Tech II, candidates must possess three years of experience along with ACLS and RCIS certifications.
