About the Team
The Quality / Calibration Lab operates as a critical backbone for BD's manufacturing and field service operations. Our mission is to ensure absolute precision and compliance across all inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE). In a regulated environment governed by FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 820) and ISO 13485 standards, the team maintains the integrity of our data and the safety of our products by keeping equipment ready, traceable, and audit-ready.
About the Role
This 6-month contract position serves as the operational engine for our calibration lifecycle. You will be the hands-on expert responsible for the verification, adjustment, and documentation of a diverse range of electrical, mechanical, and dimensional instruments. Your work directly impacts our ability to reduce calibration backlogs and support field service teams in maintaining compliance for equipment deployed in customer environments.
In this role, you will not only execute calibrations on core lab equipment but also coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to manage the flow of equipment for repair and outsourced activities. A significant portion of your day will involve investigating out-of-tolerance conditions, analyzing measurement uncertainty, and ensuring that every calibration certificate meets rigorous traceability standards to national and international benchmarks like NIST.

- Team Interview: A meeting with the Calibration Lead and Quality Manager to discuss workflow, audit readiness, and team dynamics.

Requirements

Nice to Have
Experience in medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry. Familiarity with FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485 requirements. Experience with calibration and quality management systems (e.g., BMRAM, SAP, GAGEtrak). Knowledge of measurement uncertainty, root cause analysis, and OOT investigations.
