This role offers a unique chance to support the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) in fulfilling its mission to administer the nation's lawful immigration system. As a Biometric Technician, you will be a vital part of a dynamic team at the Application Support Center (ASC) in Pittsburgh, PA, assisting in the smooth operation of government programs.
As a part-time team member, you will serve as the first point of contact for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States. Your primary focus is delivering the highest level of customer service, representing both Amentum and the United States Government with a cheerful, inviting, and respectful demeanor. You will manage the flow of the public, ensuring a safe and organized environment while capturing essential biometric data.
The role requires a high degree of sensitivity and courtesy when interacting with applicants from diverse backgrounds. You will be responsible for verifying identities, managing crowd control, and safeguarding sensitive Personal Identifiable Information (PII). While the position is part-time with a standard schedule of 30 hours per week, flexibility is required as shifts may occasionally be adjusted based on applicant volume and site needs.
Amentum provides all required job training for qualified candidates. Successful applicants must complete the biometrics training and become certified within sixty days of hiring. The process includes obtaining and maintaining the necessary facility credentials, which requires U.S. citizenship.
