The Billing Clerk serves as a vital support pillar within the Fiscal Department, ensuring the financial integrity of patient care services. Reporting to the Billing and Coding Supervisor, this role bridges the gap between clinical documentation and revenue cycle management. The position is designed for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing the end-to-end billing lifecycle from charge verification to final payment collection.
In this capacity, you will act as the first point of contact for the Billing Department, handling receptionist duties while simultaneously managing complex administrative tasks. Your day will involve verifying patient eligibility, ensuring accurate coding compliance, and processing claims through the PM/EHR system. You will play a critical role in resolving claim rejections, managing patient payment plans, and communicating with payers to secure timely reimbursements. Success in this role requires a balance of technical precision in medical billing and the interpersonal skills necessary to interact professionally with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
Candidates must submit a completed SIHC Application and Authorization Form to Human Resources prior to the closing date. All applicants are required to successfully pass a pre-screening process, which includes a tuberculin skin test or x-ray and a blood/urine drug screening. SIHC is committed to fostering a culture of compliance and integrity. Every employee plays a key role in maintaining this standard, with mandatory participation in compliance training and a heightened awareness of department-specific regulations.
