The Banquet Captain serves as the primary supervisor for the banquet staff, coordinating all food and beverage services within the department. This role is essential for maintaining hotel standards, training the team, and ensuring seamless execution of events. You will act as the bridge between the event host and the service team, orchestrating the planning, setup, and delivery of banquet functions with a focus on quality and efficiency.
Your day begins with active participation in pre-shift and pre-function meetings to align the team on upcoming events. You will meet and greet guests warmly, coordinating closely with event hosts to manage all aspects of the function. Throughout the event, you will oversee the setup of banquet rooms and food counters, ensuring everything is ready for execution at the appointed time. You will also monitor cleanliness in banquet rooms, service areas, and kitchens, verifying that sufficient supplies and equipment are available. The role requires hands-on involvement in setting up rooms, breaking down spaces according to contract instructions, and serving food and beverage to guests. You will be responsible for planning the event course and ensuring its completion in a timely, quiet, and courteous manner while adhering to all standard policies and procedures.
