About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Azure Cloud Architect to lead cloud infrastructure strategy, design, and delivery for a client in the financial services sector. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity designed for a hands-on developer who thrives on implementing enterprise-grade solutions using Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices.
In this role, you will own the architecture from whiteboard design to hands-on implementation. You will not just design; you will actively build and validate solutions. The position requires a collaborative mindset to work across engineering, security, and compliance teams, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Location and Work Model
This role is based in one of our local offices: Boston, Hamilton Township (NJ), or NYC. Please note that this is a contract-to-hire engagement requiring the candidate to work onsite at the local office 4 days per week.

- check_circleManage database architecture for PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB including security and optimization

- check_circleOwn end-to-end architecture from whiteboard design to hands-on implementation and validation
- check_circleCollaborate with engineering, security, and compliance teams to deliver solutions

Nice to Have
Experience migrating on-premises or AWS/Google Cloud Platform workloads to Azure cloud. Familiarity with Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, or lift-and-shift patterns. Knowledge of FinOps practices and Azure Cost Management. Exposure to containerization strategies and AKS production operations. Experience working in regulated financial services environments.
