JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract (J-Tech II). Our mission is to develop and maintain realistic, integrated test and training environments, preparing the nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
The Avionics Field Engineer serves as a critical link in ensuring the operational readiness of Department of Defense manned and unmanned aircraft. This role goes beyond standard maintenance; it involves hands-on support for the repair and modification of complex aircraft systems, including specialized avionics, electronic warfare, autonomous systems, and tactical communication/datalink systems.
In this position, you will advise internal teams and provide technical expertise down to the component level for Line Repairable Units. Your day-to-day involves performing pre, post, and through-flight inspections of airborne systems and ground flight equipment. You will apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that often cannot be resolved by referencing manuals alone, utilizing a wide array of test instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and frequency synthesizers. As a Field Engineer, you will also assist in Test and Evaluation (T&E) development projects, ensuring that all operations adhere to strict safety of flight standards and OEM wiring diagrams.
This position is part of a federal government contract, which requires U.S. citizenship. Candidates must be eligible for and maintain a government security clearance (TS Clearance required). The inability to obtain and maintain the required clearance, a valid state driver's license, or other necessary certifications may affect employment eligibility.
JT4, LLC is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. Our team values professional knowledge, effective planning, and strong analytical skills, ensuring that every engineer contributes to the safety and success of national defense missions.
