About the Role
This position serves as a critical bridge between human safety and autonomous technology. As an Autonomous Vehicle Safety Driver, you will be the essential human oversight during testing phases, ensuring the vehicle operates safely in real-world conditions. This role is designed for tech-savvy individuals with app-based job experience, such as taxi drivers, offering a unique introduction to the rapidly evolving field of autonomous vehicles.
Day in the Life
Your primary mission is to drive and monitor autonomous vehicles while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols. You will perform daily vehicle safety checks and remain vigilant, ready to take manual control instantly if the system encounters a challenging situation. Whether navigating different weather conditions or handling unexpected road and pedestrian scenarios, your ability to react calmly and safely is paramount.
Beyond driving, you will act as a key data point for the engineering team. You will collect and report driving data and feedback, communicating regularly with riders, engineers, and operations teams to refine the vehicle's performance. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus during long shifts.
Shift and Schedule
We offer competitive pay of $25 per hour for full-time, on-site work in Dallas, TX. The role requires flexibility to cover various shifts, including:
- AM Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- PM Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- Other shifts: Available upon request
Schedules are available on rotating patterns, including Sunday–Wednesday, Thursday–Sunday, and Saturday–Tuesday.
Hiring Process
Candidates with a valid U.S. driver's license (held for 3+ years) and a clean driving record are encouraged to apply. We look for individuals with a strong safety awareness and the ability to handle diverse driving conditions. Preferred candidates may have experience in autonomous vehicle driving, EVs, or safety-focused driving roles.

Requirements
