The Automotive Service Manager serves as a pivotal leader within the store, reporting directly to the Store Manager. This role is dedicated to setting the highest standards of excellence and personifying the company's core values to support operations in the service department. The position focuses on creating a highly motivated team environment, working closely with the Service Team to improve performance through a hands-on presence in the store.
As a leader, you will efficiently develop and coach team members while executing store processes and procedures. Your day-to-day impact involves supervising technicians and service personnel, planning and scheduling their duties, assigning work, and following up on the completion of assignments. You will also coach teammates on operational issues, including working within ISI systems and adhering to service standards.
Beyond internal team management, this role involves direct engagement with customers regarding sales, service, customer opportunities, and adjustments. You will be responsible for evaluating the performance and productivity of all service department personnel, managing parts inventory and outside purchases to ensure compliance with the parts and Tire Purchase Program, and maintaining proper inspections. Safety is a core component of the role, requiring you to ensure store safety, maintain safety equipment, supervise the shop area and equipment for compliance with company safety procedures, and coach personnel on enforcing the wheel torqueing process.
