Audit Managers serve as the engagement lead or work under the direct supervision of a Senior Manager, depending on the nature and complexity of the client engagement. This position is pivotal in delivering high-quality engagement services, requiring strong communication skills to interact regularly with both clients and firm team members.
The role demands excellent organizational skills to successfully coordinate multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting established deadlines. Audit Managers are responsible for leading audit engagement teams, overseeing all components from gathering information and planning meetings to performing risk assessments and managing fieldwork procedures through to final report issuance. Additionally, the role involves supervising, reviewing, training, and mentoring Senior Associates and Associates by assigning work, providing constructive feedback, and directing necessary revisions.
Beyond technical execution, Audit Managers act as a primary day-to-day contact for clients on accounting matters, managing ongoing client relationships and needs. They apply sound judgment and analytical skills to prepare and review accounting reports and financial analyses aimed at improving clients' internal controls and accounting procedures. The role also includes participating in business development initiatives, utilizing cloud-based technology and audit software effectively, and identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships and cross-sell additional services.
