About the Role
The Kindergarten Assistant serves as a vital support partner to the kindergarten teacher, providing academic, socio-emotional, and behavioral guidance to students. This role is designed to enhance the classroom environment by facilitating instructional activities and ensuring student safety and well-being throughout the school day.
You will work directly with students in various settings, including one-on-one interactions, small groups, and whole-class instruction. Your presence allows the lead teacher to focus on planning and instruction while you manage essential routines such as dismissal, restroom breaks, and lunchroom assistance. Additionally, you will prepare instructional materials and lead engaging activities like outdoor play, rhythm exercises, and story time.
Reporting to both the principal and the kindergarten teacher, you will be evaluated on your ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of the classroom and your effectiveness in supporting the district's vision and strategic goals. Success in this position requires a positive outlook, tact, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and students alike.
