The University Advancement Data Strategy and Innovation team plays a critical strategic role within the University's Advancement division. We provide the analytical framework, data architecture, application development, and tools necessary for data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization. Our mission is to turn raw data into tactical information and actionable knowledge, directly supporting the University's fundraising and engagement operations.
As the Associate Director of Data Science, you will serve as a creative thinker and strategic leader, proposing innovative approaches to complex problems that drive sound organizational decisions. This role is designed to bridge the gap between advanced statistical techniques and business needs, ensuring that data is communicated effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
In this position, you will supervise the day-to-day functional operations of the data science team while acting as a key liaison to other teams within University Advancement. You will work closely with the Executive Director to drive strategic planning, ensuring that analytics strategies and solutions are successfully executed to support the University's goals. Your day-to-day involves leading projects, mentoring staff, and collaborating with business users to define outcomes that enhance prospect management, marketing segmentation, and overall customer service.
Candidates selected for an interview will be invited to participate in a series of discussions focused on technical expertise, leadership philosophy, and cultural fit. The process typically includes an initial screening, followed by in-depth interviews with the hiring team and potential cross-functional partners. Finalists will be evaluated on their ability to translate complex data insights into clear strategic recommendations.
