Key Responsibilities
- check_circlePerform accounting functions to ensure compliance with governmental and state standards
- check_circleProduce cash and accrual-based journal entries and financial reports
- check_circleAssist in budget preparation by compiling and consolidating data
- check_circleCreate and maintain periodic internal and external budget reports
- check_circleSupport independent audits and assist in developing general ledger policies
- check_circleCoordinate efforts across the business office regarding student finances
- check_circleAdminister capital and controllable assets and manage associated inventory procedures
- check_circleProcess accounts payable, receipting, refunds, and discounting transactions
- check_circleExecute internal control procedures, reconciliations, and accrual development
- check_circleAssist the Controller in managing physical campus care and custody tasks
- check_circleDevelop and coordinate RFPs, research market values, and obtain competitive quotations
- check_circleFacilitate and oversee the requisition and purchase of materials, supplies, equipment, and contractual services
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's level degree in a relevant field
- verifiedPrior experience with enterprise grade finance ledgers such as CORE CT, Peoplesoft, Jenzabar, Banner, etc.
- verifiedPrior experience performing finance related tasks such as journal entry posting, budget development, etc.
- verifiedAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically the ability to manage communications and schedules through Microsoft Outlook, shape and interpret financial data within Microsoft Excel, and effectively present utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint
- verifiedProof of citizenship or employability under the requirement of the Immigration and Control Act (IRCA)
Nice to Have
Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the application of Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards. Experience with external and internal audits conducted under State, Federal, or other acceptable frameworks.
