About the Role
The Associate Buyer is a key driver of sales and profitability, managing purchasing and inventory for specific departments. This role exists to curate assortments that align with market and consumer trends, ensuring timely deliveries and analyzing sales performance to identify new opportunities. You will guide the entire product lifecycle, from creation and purchase order tracking to merchandising, markdowns, and discards.
In this position, you will make independent purchasing decisions to satisfy customer demand while achieving sales, turn, and margin plans. You will assist in training Assistant Buyers and Senior Assistant Buyers, preparing merchandise and reports for weekly team meetings. The role requires traveling to store locations to review product mixes and gather feedback, as well as attending trade shows and visiting vendor locations to maintain professional relationships and gain insight on emerging trends.
