This position serves as a critical administrative and technical partner to the Reclaimed Water Production Manager, ensuring the responsible management of the Reclaimed Water Treatment Plant, augmentation facilities, and the citywide distribution and storage systems. The role is designed to provide successorship and continuity for the Reclaimed Water Production Division, bridging operational oversight with administrative precision.
The core mission of this position is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Port Orange citizens and the surrounding environment. This is achieved by ensuring that the Advanced Complex Reclaimed Water Treatment Facilities consistently meet all federal and state regulatory parameters. The role acts as a guardian of uninterrupted operations, managing the complex interplay of treatment processes, pumping stations, wells, and storage tanks to meet reclaimed water demands while adhering to strict permit requirements.
As a key member of the City's Emergency Management Team, the incumbent is expected to perform all duties assigned during emergency operations, including responses to hurricanes, floods, fires, and security breaches. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise in water treatment and the leadership skills necessary to mentor staff, manage projects, and maintain the integrity of the division's administrative and financial records.
