Our team is redefining what it means to deliver care in an academic setting – where access efficiency, discovery, and quality outcomes go hand in hand. We are investing in people, processes, and technology to create an environment where collaboration thrives, and every role contributes to advancing medicine. With more than 140 faculty and 46 Advanced Practice Providers – and growing – the Department of Medicine is committed to fostering excellence across all mission areas.
The Division of Endocrinology at UTMB is a thriving program within the Department of Medicine, committed to advancing excellence in patient care, research, and education. The Division includes more than a dozen faculty and Advanced Practice Providers who deliver comprehensive endocrine care across UTMB's four hospitals – Galveston, League City, Clear Lake, and Angleton Danbury.
Faculty provide the full spectrum of endocrine services, including diabetes management, pituitary and adrenal disorders, metabolic bone disease, and thyroid disease. The Division maintains a strong referral base and works collaboratively across specialties to deliver integrated, patient-centered care.
A major area of focus for the coming years is expanding UTMB's thyroid program, including the development of a comprehensive thyroid nodule and cancer service that combines clinical excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and innovative diagnostic approaches.
Our ACGME-accredited Endocrinology Fellowship Program trains 6 fellows across 2 years, offering a broad and rigorous curriculum supported by committed faculty mentors and diverse clinical experiences. The Division also plays an active role in medical student and resident education, contributing meaningfully to the academic mission of the institution.
