The Assistant Principal at Alcorn Central Elementary School serves as a vital partner to the Principal, providing leadership and supervision to administer the school's educational program. This role is designed to promote the educational development and achievement of all students while ensuring strict adherence to Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, and applicable laws.
In this capacity, you will act as the Principal in their absence, guiding the school through daily operations and strategic initiatives. The position focuses on fostering a safe, supportive environment conducive to individualized instruction and cooperative curriculum development. You will play a key role in professional staff development, encouraging teachers to experiment with new strategies and grow professionally.
Your work will involve a dynamic blend of instructional leadership, human resources management, and community engagement. You will assist in coordinating the work of school staff to implement effective instructional practices, while conducting ongoing assessments of student learning to modify teaching methods for diverse needs, including students with special needs.
A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to building relationships. You will ensure effective communication with students and parents, encouraging parental involvement in education. Additionally, you will supervise and evaluate teaching staff, manage personnel files, and assist in the recruitment and selection of new employees. You will also collaborate on budgetary and financial affairs, ensuring the school operates efficiently within district guidelines.
Candidates must possess an MS State Certification and a Teaching Certification with a 486 Endorsement. A Bachelor's and Master's degree from an accredited college or university are required. Applicants should have extensive successful teaching experience, preferably at the Middle School level, and experience in administration is preferred.
