Assistant Manager

About the Role

This position serves as a foundational role for all hourly store team members, focusing on the operational integrity of our store. The team is responsible for the end-to-end flow of product, from receiving deliveries and managing inventory to preparing food and processing customer orders. Success in this role requires a blend of physical stamina, precise motor coordination, and the ability to maintain quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Day in the Life

Your day will involve a dynamic mix of tasks performed in varying conditions. You will operate equipment, stock ingredients from delivery areas into storage and coolers, and prepare products for service. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to receiving and processing telephone orders, requiring clear verbal communication with customers and co-workers.

The role demands physical versatility. You will spend most of your time standing and walking short distances across ceramic tile and linoleum surfaces. Tasks include lifting bulk product deliveries up to 50 pounds, carrying pizza sauce or dough trays, and pushing dollies. You will also navigate stairs or climb ladders for maintenance and signage updates. The environment includes exposure to varying temperatures, ranging from 36 degrees in walk-in coolers to over 90 degrees in work areas, as well as food odors and dust.

Training and Development

Orientation and on-the-job training are provided to ensure you are equipped with the necessary skills to operate equipment, handle inventory, and process orders accurately. You will learn to use computer keyboards or touch screens for order entry and develop the mathematical proficiency needed to handle monetary transactions and inventory counts.
