The Assistant Director of Patient Care serves as a key leader within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. This role is designed to ensure the delivery of compassionate, comprehensive, and high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients. Working on the evening shift, the Assistant Director manages patient care delivery across the 4300 Pediatrics and PICU units, acting as a vital partner to the Nurse Manager.
In this position, you will play an active role in shaping the unit's culture and operational success. You will assist in developing patient care standards, overseeing orientation and continuing education programs, and participating in nursing quality improvement initiatives. The role requires maintaining and modeling clinical skills while applying a deep understanding of growth and development principles to assess and treat patients according to their age-specific needs. Additionally, you will support unit administration, including scheduling and resource management, ensuring the unit runs smoothly to meet the evolving needs of the community.
Candidates selected for this position will be required to successfully complete all Orientation Programs. Specific steps for the interview and onboarding process are managed internally by the recruiting team.
