The Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications provides strategic leadership for all athletic communications, public relations, and digital media efforts. This role exists to promote the department's brand and mission by telling stories that reflect excellence, character, and faith. You will serve as the primary media contact for all varsity sports, overseeing live event coverage, statistical reporting, and the management of the official athletics website.
In this position, you will cultivate relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets while guiding coaches and student-athletes on best practices for branding and social media. The role involves a dynamic day-to-day rhythm, ranging from developing comprehensive communication strategies and writing feature stories to supervising game day operations and live streaming. You will collaborate closely with the University's Marketing & Communications team to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms, including social media, video, and print publications.
