The Asset Protection Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding the company's assets by preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud. This position is dedicated to supporting safety and environmental program compliance within the assigned store or multiple stores. The specialist utilizes various tools to minimize loss, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV footage and exception reports, and monitoring the store's physical security. A key part of the role involves auditing Electronic Article Surveillance systems and driving a culture of shrink elimination throughout the store.
Beyond loss prevention, the specialist is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries. This includes preserving evidence, interacting with law enforcement, and testifying in criminal and civil court actions when necessary. The role requires a steadfast commitment to safety; any hazardous or unsafe conditions must be reported immediately to the Manager on Duty. All job responsibilities are carried out with a focus on minimizing the risk of injury to associates, vendors, customers, and the company.
