Asset Protection Specialist

Position Purpose

The Asset Protection Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding the company's assets by preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud. This position is dedicated to supporting safety and environmental program compliance within the assigned store or multiple stores. The specialist utilizes specialized tools to minimize loss, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV footage and exception reports, and monitoring the store's physical security. A key part of the role involves auditing Electronic Article Surveillance systems and driving a culture of shrink elimination throughout the store.

Beyond loss prevention, the specialist is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries. This includes preserving evidence, interacting with law enforcement, and testifying in criminal and civil court actions when necessary. The role requires demonstrating unwavering integrity at all times while responding to asset protection and operational concerns raised by associates. The specialist must remain focused on store-specific business objectives while supporting key asset protection and operational responsibilities.

Safety is paramount in this position. The Asset Protection Specialist must report any hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty immediately and carry out all job responsibilities in a manner that minimizes the risk of injury to themselves, other associates, vendors, customers, and the company.
