Position Purpose
The Asset Protection Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding the company's assets by preventing financial loss resulting from theft and fraud. This position is dedicated to supporting safety and environmental program compliance within the assigned store or stores. The specialist utilizes specialized tools and strategies to minimize loss, focusing on identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV footage and exception reports, and monitoring physical security measures.
A key aspect of this role involves auditing Electronic Article Surveillance systems and fostering a culture of shrink elimination throughout the store. Beyond loss prevention, the specialist is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed case reports that document apprehensions and recoveries. This includes preserving evidence, interacting with law enforcement, and testifying in criminal and civil court actions when necessary.
Safety and integrity are paramount in this position. The specialist must promptly report any hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and execute all job responsibilities in a manner that minimizes the risk of injury to themselves, associates, vendors, customers, and the company. Demonstrating unwavering integrity at all times, the specialist responds to asset protection and operational concerns raised by associates while remaining focused on store-specific business objectives.
