Established in 2020, the Isotope Science and Engineering Directorate (ISED) is strengthening Oak Ridge National Laboratory's leadership in isotope production and enrichment technology innovation. ISED guides the Lab's pursuit of fundamental science and technology that broadens the application of isotopes for energy, environmental, medical, and national security purposes. These efforts are made possible through the High Flux Isotope Reactor, the Radiochemical Engineering Development Center, ORNL's other nuclear facilities, and an assemblage of world-leading scientists and engineers.
ORNL is investing in our nuclear facilities to ensure directorate goals are met and strategies are executed. To support and protect these critical assets, we are hiring a Section Head to lead the Asset Management organization within the Non-Reactor Nuclear Facilities Division. This position serves as the strategic anchor for maintaining and improving equipment reliability, optimizing predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance processes, and ensuring efficient outage planning.
In this role, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement by instilling SCOR principles within the organization. You will partner closely with nuclear facility operations, engineering, support functions, and key mission stakeholders to identify, process, and prioritize investments using standardized asset management programs. Your leadership will integrate reliability data with maintenance processes to improve mean time between failure performance, reduce outage duration, and extend the life of critical assets. Additionally, you will manage a comprehensive workforce planning function, interfacing with talent acquisition and HR to retain, attract, and develop top-tier technical talent.
This position will remain open for a minimum of 5 days after which it will close when a qualified candidate is identified and/or hired. If you have difficulty using the online application system or need an accommodation to apply due to a disability, please email ORNLRecruiting@ornl.gov.
ORNL is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants, including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans, are encouraged to apply. UT-Battelle is an E-Verify employer.
