About the Opportunity
A-Line Staffing is partnering with a Fortune 500 semiconductor and technology company to recruit an ASIC Physical Design Engineer based in Minneapolis, MN. The position is a contract assignment with the possibility of permanent hire, contingent upon attendance, performance, and business needs.
The Role
You will drive advanced ASIC and PHY physical design initiatives, taking designs from concept through tape-out independently. This role requires a self-starter capable of operating effectively with ambiguity, evolving requirements, and incomplete specifications. You will function in a resource-constrained environment, managing multiple design phases while maintaining a strong focus on end-to-end execution.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, onsite role (Monday–Friday, standard business hours) located in Minneapolis, MN. Remote candidates may be considered, though onsite presence is preferred. Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days of the engagement.

Requirements
- verified7–10 years of ASIC physical design experience
- verifiedProficiency in Cadence physical design tools

- verifiedExpertise in physical verification
- verifiedExperience with advanced node design environments (12nm preferred)
- verifiedProven end-to-end tape-out ownership
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred
Nice to Have
Experience working within advanced semiconductor environments. Experience supporting PHY and ASIC implementation at advanced process nodes. Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
