About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated full-time Armed Security Officer to support the CIFSO contract in the Windsor, Connecticut area. In this role, you will be the first line of defense, responsible for enforcing security protocols, controlling access to facilities, and responding professionally to emergencies. The position requires a high level of situational awareness to patrol assigned areas, monitor facility activity, and ensure safe conditions for all personnel.
This is a dynamic role where you will manage vehicle checkpoints, operate CCTV and remote access systems, and secure incident scenes. You will be expected to respond quickly to a variety of situations, including medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and inclement weather. Success in this position demands physical readiness, the ability to compose coherent written reports in English, and strict adherence to established Use of Force policies and company procedures.
Working Conditions
This position involves a mix of indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. The role requires standing and walking patrols for extended periods, as well as the ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25–50 lbs. You may be exposed to noise, bright lighting, and fast-paced environments. Availability to work weekends, holidays, and extended shifts is required, along with the ability to travel as needed.
Hiring Process
Candidates must meet specific physical and licensing requirements, including valid state-issued driver's licenses, CT State Security Guard License, and CT Armed Security Permit (Blue Card). The selection process includes a physical fitness assessment comprising push-ups, sit-ups, a 300-meter sprint, and a 165 lb victim drag test. Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to write coherent reports in English and possess at least three years of verifiable experience in armed security, law enforcement, honorable military service, or a degree in Criminal Justice.
