Armed Driver Guard

About the Role

As an Armored Driver Guard, you are a vital member of a team dedicated to the safe and secure pickup and delivery of cash, coin, and valuables. You will operate automatic armored vehicles and other transport units on designated routes, servicing customer locations and ATMs. Your day involves managing the logistics of customer stops, delivering change orders, and picking up deposits. A significant portion of your work includes loading and unloading vehicle cargo, such as multiple bags and boxes of coins, as well as counting, recording, and signing for all items to ensure accuracy and security.

Working Conditions

This position is full-time with a schedule averaging 40 to 50 hours per week, typically requiring a minimum of 5 days during a 6-day period. Occasional weekend work is expected. Approximately 90-95% of the work is performed inside air-conditioned vehicles within individual compartments (front and rear). The role involves physical demands including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and climbing, which are assessed through a required Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) during the qualification process.

Hiring Process & Qualifications

To qualify for the Armed Driver Guard position, candidates must be at least 21 years old with a valid 3-year driving record. A Medical Examiners Certificate via a US Department of Transportation approved examiner is mandatory. Additionally, a valid firearms permit and/or the ability to pass all applicable firearms and state-regulated security guard card/license requirements are necessary. Loomis will cover the costs for security and firearms qualifications, licensing, and permitting. Note that specific state laws may require a high school diploma or GED for security licensing eligibility.
