About the Role
The Area Manager serves as a vital leader overseeing the merchandising and operations of four or more Home Depot Garden Centers within a District. This role is designed to ensure the highest level of customer service while driving sales objectives through strategic planning and effective workforce management. As a role model and leader, the Area Manager must solve complex problems, make informed decisions, and manage time wisely to achieve maximum results for the business.
In this position, you will partner closely with the District Manager and HR Generalist to recruit exceptional talent, ensuring staffing needs are met. You will be responsible for training and coaching staff on daily tasks, best practices, and safety protocols, including Bell safety practices and incident reporting. The Area Manager acts as the bridge between Bell Nursery, the client, and vendor partners, ensuring clear communication and the correct implementation of the Plan-O-Gram program.
Day in the Life
Your day involves a dynamic mix of strategic oversight and hands-on leadership. You will monitor inventory levels and accuracy, working in conjunction with leadership to set weekly ads and implement store promotions. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to developing your team through constructive feedback, encouragement, and honest expectations. You will proactively identify and solve problems affecting efficiency and productivity while ensuring all staff comply with established company policies and standards.
