We are seeking a self-motivated Application Engineer to join a leading medical devices company in Sparks, MD. In this 12-month contract role, you will serve as a bridge between paper-based manufacturing processes and modern digital solutions. Your primary mission is to deliver high-quality software products that meet critical customer needs within a regulated environment.
You will work independently as a key contributor while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement applications within Tulip, a cloud-based manufacturing execution system (MES). This role is ideal for a developer who thrives in an Agile setting, enjoys solving complex debugging challenges, and takes pride in translating complex requirements into well-structured, documented software components.
Your work will focus on the full software development lifecycle, from specifying and planning to designing, developing, testing, and supporting software components. You will actively participate in technical design reviews and code inspections to ensure adherence to strict development policies and regulatory requirements, including 21 CFR Part 11.
A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to collaborating with various teams to accurately translate manual quality and manufacturing processes into electronic formats. You will monitor project schedules, report progress to leadership, and propose solutions to maintain milestones while managing scope creep. Troubleshooting existing automation systems and implementing modifications to resolve issues will be a core part of your daily workflow.
Candidates selected for this role will be expected to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on the first shift. The engagement is a contract position on W2, open to US Citizens, Green Card holders, and those with valid work authorization (GC EAD, OPT, EAD, or CPT).
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, ensuring a fair and open hiring process for all candidates.
